hi! my name is julie with beadaholique.com and i'm going to show you how to make a classically elegant necklace using aswarovski crystal briolette and some sterling silver beading chainthis is .6mm beading chain. it easily goes right through thebriolette so i don't have to wire wrap it which is nice
18 inch sterling silver snake chain, it's a really simple project. it's greatfor brides bridesmaids, birthday gifts anything where you want to make a lovely keepsake type necklace but to beable to do it quickly and easily you need a ruler
you're going to need a pair of crimping pliers. i have these pocket crimp pliers. i really love them. these are really comfortablefor me but you can use a full size as well you're going to need a pair of flush cutters and you need two pairs of chain nose pliers or you can use on chain nose, a round nose basically anything that you can grab a jump ring with and open it easily those are my tools in this necklace here i used one briolette but for the video i wanted to show you a variation. i'm going to put three on the beading
chain so i got my three swarovski briolette i've got two feet of beading chain which i'mgoing to cut down to fifteen inches i've got a sterling silver clasp i've got a jump ring to be the other side ofmy clasp and i've got these two crimp tubes with a loop already attached to make this necklace we're going to go ahead and measure out beading chain and i want this to rest up high on the neck measure out fifteen inches and then my clasp is going to add not quite
another inch but about three quarters ofan inch so at the fifteen-inch mark and i'm going to cut my beading chain and then take my crimping pliers i like to actually just go ahead grip my crimp tube with that ring alreadyattached in my pliers take my beading chain feed it through. itcomes out the other side so i don't want it to come totally out of theother side. i just want it to be to the
very end of the tube and crimp i like to give it a good strong crimp so now you can see it's in there. it'ssecure. now do the other half of the crimping process fold the sides into each other now we've got one end attached on the end that doesn't have the crimp
i'm just going to string right through the bead itself, small briolette large one and another small one you can see how that's going to look, going to lookpretty to do this other end. i'm going toplace my crimp tube in my pliers already so it's preloaded if you will. you see that we have the other side
over here going to take the end of my beading chain it comes off the other side pull it back do a tight squeeze to complete our crimping put it to the other side again the notch in the crimping pliers squeeze shut and then that end has
a crimp tube with a loop attached attach a clasp. grip a jump ring on one side with the slit at the top grip the other side twist open. you never pull open the jump ring and attach it through the loop that's already attached to yourbeading chain
and twist it back in place that's one half of our clasp the lobster clasp that we use in this project actually comes with another jump ringattached so we're just going to open the attached jump ring the same way twist it apart connect it and twist it close that
is now completely attached
and so you have a completed necklace that didn'ttake more than a couple minutes and sterling silver using swarovski crystal it's a really easy and elegant piece. go to www.beadaholique.com to purchase beading supplies and to get design ideas!
