drain cleaning tools hi, i'm mike from ridgid. i'm going to just run you through our rangeof tools for our drain cleaning machines, and the kind of applications they're good for. so we start at this end here with springs.

home depot snakes for plumbing, so these are spring-type tools. first one is the basic style, that's a straight auger, ideal for removing paper and rags from a line. and then for larger blockages, the funnel auger.

the beauty of the funnel is that paper andrags and even light roots can get caught up in the auger and retrieved to the surface. and then lastly in the springoffering is a retrieval tool. so if you're unfortunate enough to break acable, the idea with this one here is the hook on the end actually locks into the cable, and brings it back to the surface for you. so they're spring tools. and then we move from springsinto actual cutting tools. so basic spade cutters, westart with something like this. these are ideal for opening up a line.

so you've perhaps got a blockage of greaseor something like that, and the first tool down would open up that cork of grease. so spades in various shapes and sizes. if it's a more serious blockage than grease, itmight be some heavy scale, something like that, you would need a 4-bladed cutter. so these again are for ideal foropening up a blockage of cork, ready for the next tool to go down. then moving down, now secondary tools. so this is where we get into "c"-cutters.

so these would be a tool thatwould actually scrap the wall of the pipe after you've opened it up. so this is an ideal sortof second down the line. they can be a basic c-shape likethese 2 here, or an h-type. so you've got 2 blades, oneon the front, 1 behind you, so you're getting maximumsort of reaming of the line. if you want more aggressiveaction, you can add teeth. so here we've got a c-shape cutter, these are the shark tooth cutters, and these actually have teeth down the sides, and these again are for ideal for reaming

and scraping scale off the sides of a pipe. and then if you want cutting actionfor say root work and things like that, we get into the spiral bar cutters. so we've turned the cutter on its side here, and we're actually presenting thiscutting face up against the blockage. so ideal for root work, in various sizes. and then lastly here again for the root work,we've added on the saw tooth a cutting edge at the front, but then a c-cutter behind.

so maximum cutting of roots and things like that.

and then lastly the chain knocker. so this would be a finishing tool, again forhard work, for scale deposits, things like that, for really aggressively knockingscale off the side of a pipe.
